Mobile, Community Physio

physio physiotherapy in wonthaggi cowes phillip island bass coast inverloch

What is Physiotherapy and what does it do?

Physiotherapy (Also known as Physical Therapy) is an Allied Healthcare profession, which focusses on assessing and treating pain, injury, disease and deformity to maximise strength, movement, function, mobility and performance.

Our Community Physiotherapist, work to make sure that you reach your personal goals and maintain them. That could be to stand and and walk, mobilise around your home or community, regain control and use of limbs and to carry out normal Activities of Daily Living (ADL) such as doing the cleaning, washing and dressing, accessing your community and keeping up with your hobbies.

What conditions do Physiotherapists help with?

Any illness, disease or condition that impairs your ability to move or complete functional tasks in everyday life, we can help with. Some of the conditions we often work with are the following:

  • Joint replacements, injuries or diseases
  • Learning Disabilities.
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
  • Parkinson's Disease
  • Stroke (TIA/CVA) or Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI)
  • Other Neurological conditions impacting movement, coordination and physical ability.
  • Falls and Balance problems.
  • Weakness of the body due to ill health or injury.
  • Arthritis and other chronic physical conditions.
  • The need for equipment to move safely around the home or community.
  • Much, much more.

Can I keep seeing my Physiotherapist?

Simply put, yes. However, Physiotherapists are there to assess and treat you as a whole person. So, if your condition can be managed by yourself without a Physio's help, we may tell you that and leave you to work on it alone until you need to check back in with us.

MOST of the time however, Physiotherapists work on an on-going basis with people that have more chronic and debilitating conditions, such as neurological conditions and others. Our job is to make sure you are always informed of your progress, so we can make sure you're always reaching your potential.

How do I get Physiotherapy?

Luckily there are many ways in which you can access Physiotherapy, and best of all - you don't always need a GP referral to do so.

Some examples of how to access Physiotherapy are below. However, If you want to know more about your own personal situation, please get in touch with us today to find out how we can support you.

· To be aged lower than 65, when entering the NDIS.

· Be an Australian Citizen or hold a permanent visa.
